For the launch of Nike’s 2017 ACG (All Condition Gear) collection, we supported Random Studio to create representations of extreme weather conditions in the New York NikeLab store.

Envisioned as a means of better connecting customers with products meant for extreme weather, suspended sheets of “smart fog” descended on New York. Visitors were able to interact with the fog, with suspended sheets of smart glass dotted around the store which changed from transparent to cloudy when approaching customers triggered motion sensors nearby.

Conceived as a means of bringing about a relevant experience that connects people with a product devised for use in extreme urban weather conditions for the launch of the 2017 ACG (All Conditions Gear) collection, Random Studio created wind, rain and fog that for the duration of a couple of weeks seized two of the brand’s stores around the globe. Rain being a prototype only.

Our role

We were responsible for all the tech involving in the fog display at the New York store, including programming and electronics of the sensors and control of the Smart Glass.
